Hints and corrections:
-
Before beginning the assignment,
use your HTML folder on your flash drive or J
drive, use the IntheLab folder in your HTML folder ,
create a folder in your IntheLab folder called Chapter04.
All your work should be in the following folder path
HTML\IntheLab\Chapter04. (Example if
your flash drive letter is E: the folder path for
all your work is E:\HTML\IntheLab\Chapter04)
- In step 1 on page HTML 198, use the
following link to download templates for the HTML code.
(HTML Template)
Click the Run button for each of the two dialog boxes displayed,
then type in the file path where you want html file to be located, or
use the build button (button with the three dots) to
navigate to the proper drive and folder (use the folder
created in step 1 listed above) and click the OK button, then
click HTML Template in the list, click the
Unzip and OK buttons. Next change the text inside the
title tags to Lab 4-3a. (Use
Windows Explorer to navigate to the file (HTML
Template.html) in your E:\HTML\IntheLab\Chapter04
folder , double-click on the HTML Template.html
icon to open the file in your browser,
right-click on the screen and select View
Source on the short-cut menu to open the code window in
Notepad. Change the text between the title-tags to
lab4-3aSolution. Remember to save by clicking
File menu then click Save As, click
Save: as type down-arrow and choose All Files, in the
Save As dialog box, type lab4-3asolution.html in the File name text box,
click the Save command button.) Repeat
the steps listed above to create the file
lab4-3bsolution.html.
-
In step 5 on page HTML 198,
instead of printing the Web pages in the browser, use the
Alt-PrintScreen keys on your keyboard to get a screen
copy of the HTML validation screen from W3C (see Figure 2-35
on page HTML 67) Paste this screen into a Word
document (HTMLInTheLab4-3LastName) as page 1. Use
the Alt-PrintScreen keys on your keyboard to get a screen
copy of the HTML code and the Web Page as viewed in the
browser. Paste these screens into a Word document
(HTMLInTheLab4-3LastName) as pages 2 and 3. Use
the following folder to save your work instead of Chapter03\IntheLab. (Example if your flash drive letter is E: the folder path for all your work is E:\HTML\IntheLab\Chapter04) Repeat the steps
listed above to create the pages 4-6 in the Word document for the file
lab4-3bsolution.html.
- In step 7 on page HTML 199, instead of writing your name on all
printouts. Add you name and course section number in
parenthesis to the right of the CLASS AND STUDY SCHEDULE
and WORK AND VOLUNTEER SCHEDULE headers.
(Online Course Students should submit the
electronic versions using the drop box in Blackboard of the Word
document (HTMLInTheLab4-3LastName),
together with the In-Chapter work from this chapter (HTMLChapterFiles4LastName).
