Hints and corrections:

  1. Before beginning the assignment, use your HTML folder on your flash drive or X drive, use your IntheLab folder in your HTML folder, create a folder in your IntheLab folder called Chapter08. All your work should be in the following folder path HTML\IntheLab\Chapter08. (Example if your flash drive letter is E: the folder path for all your work is E:\HTML\IntheLab\Chapter08) Before putting in the HTML code, click on the InTheLab 8 Files Download link listed in the upper right hand corner to download the graphic and HTML files needed for this chapter from my web site. Make sure to store the files in E:\HTML\IntheLab\Chapter08. Click the Run button for each of the two dialog boxes displayed then type in the file path where your html file is located, or use the build button (button with the three dots) to navigate to the proper drive and folder and click the OK button, click the Unzip and OK buttons. (The downloaded files should now be located on E:\HTML\IntheLab\Chapter08.)

  2. In step `1 on page HTML 379, use the folder E:\HTML\IntheLab\Chapter08 instead of the folder listed in the book, to get the file lab8-1.html downloaded from step 1 above.
     
  3. In step `5 on page HTML 379, use the folder E:\HTML\IntheLab\Chapter08 instead of the folder listed in the book, to save the file lab8-1solution.html after making the revisions.
     
  4. In step 5 on page HTML 379, instead of printing the Web page (name lab8-1solution.html) in the browser, use the Alt-PrintScreen keys on your keyboard to get a screen copy of the HTML validation screen from W3C (see Figure 2-35 on page HTML 67) Paste this screen into a Word document (HTMLInTheLab8-1LastName) as page 1. Use the Alt-PrintScreen keys on your keyboard to get a screen copy of the HTML code and the Web Page as viewed in the browser. Paste these screens into a Word document (HTMLInTheLab8-1LastName) as pages 2 and 3.
  5. In step 7 on page HTML 379, instead of  the code listed use h1 {font-size: 32pt;
  6. In step 8 on page HTML 379, instead of instead of  the code listed use margin-left: 10em}
     
  7. In step 9 on page HTML 379, instead of instead of  the code listed use margin: 10em}
     
  8. Skip step 11 on page HTML 379, you already printed lab8-1solution.html file in step 4 above.

  9. In step 12 on page HTML 379, instead of printing the Styles sheet (named styles2.css) in the browser, use the Alt-PrintScreen keys on your keyboard to get a screen copy of the CSS validation screen from W3C  (Hint you must use the CSS validator in W3C not the HTML validator. )Paste this screen into a Word document (HTMLInTheLab8-1LastName) as page 4. Use the Alt-PrintScreen keys on your keyboard to get a screen copy of the CSS code. Paste this screens into a Word document (HTMLInTheLab8-1LastName) as page 5.

  10. Skip step 14 on page HTML 379, you already printed lab8-1solution.html file in step 4 above.
Add you name and course section number in parenthesis to the right of the For Your Home or Office header. (Online Course Students should submit the electronic versions using the drop box in Blackboard of the Word document (HTMLInTheLab6-2LastName),  together with the In-Chapter work from this chapter (HTMLChapterFiles6LastName).
